Band Mate

Practice tools that stay in the rehearsal flow.

Band Mate keeps the essentials close: a hardware-feeling metronome, chromatic tuner, local audio practice player, YouTube reference playback, and bookmarks for returning to useful practice states.

Built around practice

Tap tempo, swing, fade-out, tempo training, A/B loops, recordings, YouTube references, and bookmarkable states.

Settings, bookmarks, recordings, and saved practice states are designed around local device storage. Band Mate does not require an account or collect personal information.

01

Metronome

Band Mate metronome screen
Large tempo control, subdivision, beat selection, swing, tap tempo, fade-out, and tempo trainer controls live on the main rhythm screen.

The metronome is the center of the app. It is built for repeated adjustment during practice, with a large BPM knob, play/stop control, beat and note-division changes, and fast access to training tools.

  • Tap tempo and direct BPM control for quick starts.
  • Time signature and note division controls for common rehearsal patterns.
  • Swing presets, fade-out practice, and tempo trainer sessions for progressive work.

02

Tuner

Band Mate tuner screen
A chromatic tuner with a clear note target, pitch ring, and adjustable A4 reference.

The tuner uses the microphone for quick pitch checks and keeps the readout simple enough for rehearsal rooms. The A4 reference can be adjusted in settings when the ensemble needs a different tuning center.

  • Chromatic pitch detection with a prominent note display.
  • Visual ring feedback for sharp, flat, and centered pitch.
  • Reference tuning control for A4 from 430 Hz to 450 Hz.

03

Practice Player

Band Mate practice player screen
Local audio playback with speed, pitch, A/B markers, recording, and a recording library.

Practice Player is for working through audio in small pieces. Load a local file, slow it down, shift pitch when needed, mark loop points, or record a practice take and save it to the library.

  • Local file playback with speed control and pitch adjustment.
  • A/B loop markers for repeating difficult passages.
  • Recording mode with optional auto-save to the recording library.

04

YouTube Reference

Band Mate YouTube practice screen
Load YouTube references and keep them inside the same practice workspace.

Many parts, live versions, and lesson references already live on YouTube. Band Mate keeps those references close to the rest of the practice flow so they can be reopened from the app instead of being scattered across browser history.

  • Load YouTube links into an in-app reference player.
  • Keep a YouTube library for material that comes back often.
  • Save YouTube practice states as bookmarks alongside metronome and local audio states.

05

Bookmarks

Band Mate bookmarks screen
Bookmarks preserve useful metronome, practice player, and YouTube states.

A good practice setup is often worth saving. Bookmarks keep named states for rhythm work, local audio practice, and YouTube reference sessions so returning to a song or exercise takes less setup.

  • Filters for all, metronome, practice player, and YouTube bookmarks.
  • Save, update, rename, load, unlink, and delete bookmark states.
  • Useful for set lists, recurring exercises, and repeated study material.

06

Settings

Band Mate settings screen
Language, control feel, knob style, feedback, tuner reference, and recording auto-save.

Settings focus on how the app feels in hand. Choose language, light or dark mode, knob input mode, knob visual style, feedback behavior, tuner reference, and recording auto-save behavior.

  • Rotate or linear knob input with adjustable rotation sensitivity.
  • Basic, hardware, and black glossy knob styles.
  • Click sound, haptic feedback, language, and recording behavior controls.

Support the Team

Band Mate Support the Team screen
This is not customer support. It is a voluntary way to support the team behind Band Mate.

The Support the Team screen is separate from customer support. Band Mate is free to use, and the core rehearsal tools stay available whether or not a voluntary support option is used.

  • Voluntary one-time Coffee, Session, and Backstage-style support options, if offered.
  • No core feature lock behind team support.
  • About and legal pages keep product context, privacy, and terms easy to reach.
